Chestnut Class

Welcome to Chestnut Class!

Our Year 3 and 4 children are taught in Chestnut Class by Miss Ward (Monday - Thursday morning) and Mrs Griffiths (Thursday - Friday). They are supported by Miss Hedger-Godden.

Miss Ward

After achieving my degree in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics in Bath, I moved to Hampshire where I worked in a school as a Learning Support Assistant working with children with SEND. This inspired me to go on to do my PGCE at Winchester University, specialising in Early Years and KS1. Since then, I moved back to Devon and have taught in various small schools across the Link Academy Trust, based across all key stages.

Outside of school I love to cosy up, read my books, and cuddle my adorable house rabbit Binkx. That’s if I’m not travelling and trying to see the world!

Mrs Griffiths

Having gained my degree in Theology at Exeter University, I trained to be a teacher in Essex and spent my first years teaching there. In 2007 I moved to Devon and taught full time at a small primary school until I had my son 2016. I then moved to Morchard Bishop Primary School and have worked here on a part-time basis ever since.
In my spare time I love riding my horse and spending time travelling with my family and our wonderful greyhound Paddington.
